Halloween Traditions Countdown #2

There's nothing more fun than a night of swapping scary stories, in the dark, outside, by a small fire....with your kids! Yes, we get a kick out of scaring our sweet children....it's all in fun, but man, sometimes we get them good. Scary stories seem to be a sleepover tradition, camping tradition, and of course a Halloween tradition.

This past summer we moved and now have a place for an outdoor fire and plenty of room to share some stories. With Halloween falling on a Friday night, that leaves us some extra time to stay up late after trick-or-treating and have some family fun around the fire. Of course, they'll be some stories....scary ones. Not too scary that they'll have the bedroom and hall lights on for a month...just enough to get a fun little scream and maybe a giggle or two.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that hears a great story and when it comes time to tell....forget it! I can't remember the details, they're out of order, and the only thing scary is my memory! So I've found some great links that have scary stories for kids. It can't be too hard to print them and read them right?

Here's a little list of some fun ideas for the "after-party":

  1. S'mores
  2. Firepit, Chimnea, Ring, etc.
  3. Hot cocoa
  4. Blankets
  5. Scary Stories
  6. Flash lights
