9-12 Project: Thrift

Week 4 - Thrift
Highlighting the 12 Values from Glenn Beck's 9-12 Project

Thrift: The characteristic of using a minimum of something (especially money) - Wikipedia.

The word "thrift" gets a bad wrap...maybe because it gets mixed up with the concept of "cheap"?? But that's not the case. Being "thrift" is about being smart. It's about being responsible. It's about living life with freedom. It's about being in control of your life, your resources, your money, your time, your energy. Thrift is about frugality, not extravagance.

Being thrifty is about being mindful with monetary expenditures, even if that sometimes means spending a little bit more. Being thrifty is about valuing what you already have, and then treating it well, and then repairing instead of replacing when necessary. Being thrifty is not about not coveting the bigger, better, brighter, shinier things in life. -Non-consumer Advocate

Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.

-Haggai 1:6

Perfect post today.
I am so glad to see a mom teaching
solid rock character building such as thrift.
Thrift is so important.
I being from an older generation always took the teaching of thrift for granted ,
and so I often got rather flustered with younger people who felt they were born to be served rather than to serve.
Thank you for an awesome lesson today.
Blessings of joy and peace to you.

what a great sentiment! thrift is not always a glamorous topic. However I tell my children often that if we have to spend all our money always replacing the things we already own, than we can never get anything "really" new or an item we have never owned before. Taking care of what we own is important!

Breitling Watch can be used to calculate air speed, fuel consumption, rates of descent and the conversion of standard miles into nautical miles amongst other things - all by using the circular slide rule found on the side of the bezel. The legendary Navitimer World is still manufactured today and is almost identical in terms of movement and styling as Montbrillant Datora was when Breitling Avenger was first made in 1963 for the American astronaut Lt Cmdr Scott Carpenter.

Coach Purses fall into the category of affordable luxury. The handbags or any other Coach Gallery is recognized as a brand that is priced high enough to be appreciated by the high-class, but at the same time low enough for the middle-class to purchase and feel worthy of. Coach Luggage can even be found in outlets, small shops and boutiques for discounted prices. Even the rich and famous have been spotted in outlet malls buying Coach Madison .

When talking about SUDDENLY SUSAN duplication for personal use, the law is not at all clear. The reality is the chances of you getting into enormous trouble for taking a SUDDENLY SUSAN DVD you already own and duplicating SUDDENLY SUSAN DVD COLLECTION for your own personal use such as if, the original copy breaks or becomes unwatchable, is extremely unlikely. However, personal use is the keyword in this whole statement.
